New style and layout of KML website

In March, 2008, KML successfully launches a new website version to serve customers and browsers by optimized layout.

Comparing with foregoing website, besides attractive style and easier design, the updated one also adopts bigger webpage size (1024X768) and improves its information structures, so that customers can quickly find the information they needed. KML Canada Move New Warehouse

KML Canada moved into the new Canadian Corporate headquarters in June of 2007. It is located in Mississauga which is a part of the greater Toronto area. The warehouse has doubled in size and now can facilitate larger shipments and hold a larger inventory. The warehouse is approximately 11,000 square feet and there is approximately 2500 square feet of office space. In the new location we have also have our project engineer on staff as well as the accounts payable/receivable as well as all the administrative staff. The new Canadian headquarters now takes all orders from eastern Canada and is bilingual in both English and French. It is situated very close to the airport and all trucking companies and couriers to deliver our products to the customers.

Report of Auto Expo2008

KML, as famous auto bearing supplier, took part in The 9th Auto Expo 2008 in New Delhi, India from 10 to 17 January, 2007. This Expo held twice a year is one of the longest running and the biggest Auto Expos, therefore, it is called "The Complete Automotive Show by auto industry.

The 9th Auto Expo2008 has 18 car exhibition halls and 10 accessory (parts) exhibition halls. The exhibits include motorbikes, sedan cars, trucks, trailers, agricultural vehicles and so on. Exhibitors and audience coming from more than 50 countries and regions attend this big event.

The booth of KML locates at the largest area of Chinese Pavilion, during this time our company has mainly exhibited the KML Water Pump Bearings, Hub Units, Alternator Bearings, and Premium Grade Ball Bearings. Our products on display have attracted a wide range of customers' concerns, particularly for our Water Pump Bearing which has become a bright spot of this exhibition. A lot of customers have shown their great interests in the "Bench Test", "High-frequency Surface Quenching Treatment", and the special "Three-lip Seal Structure" adopted by our KML Water Pump Bearing, and hope to further cooperate with KML.

Hub Unit is the most potential product among the exhibits. This part has not been fully popularized in India's cars, but with the replacement of vehicles and the development of the automotive technology in India, Hub Unit will become one kind of popular product among the automobile bearings in India. KML Adopted PET Packing Belt

On February 15, 2008, Logistics Department of KML Powertrans Inc. (China) formally appointed to adopt PET packing belt as the only one special packing belt of the outpacking.

PET is the most popular belt which is the replacement of steel belt in the world.

China Steel Price Hike Seen Likely After Ore Deals

China's steel makers will likely be able to hike the steel price on the basis of rising iron ore prices in 2008, analysts said.

China's top steel maker, Baoshan Iron and Steel (Baosteel), is expected to raise second-quarter prices of its key products, including hot-rolled steel used in construction and heavy industry, by about 10 percent from the first quarter.

Baosteel, which has not yet concluded ore price talks with miners, is also likely to raise its product prices further in the following quarters this year, analysts said, partly due to rising freight and fuel costs.

"Strong domestic demand in China will allow steel makers to increase their product prices on the basis of rising production costs, without having to worry about whether high prices would dampen buying interest," said analyst Henry Liu at Macquarie Bank.

Baosteel is expected to announce a rise in key product prices by 300 to 500 Yuan a ton as early as the end of this week. The company's hot-rolled steel coil, commonly considered a market benchmark, was priced at 4,042 Yuan a ton in the first quarter.

That could trigger more increases in Chinese steel prices, which rose 8 percent on average in 2007, as strong domestic demand helps steel mills to secure sales.

Shares in Chinese steel mills rose strongly after their Japanese and South Korean counterparts agreed early this week to a steep 65 percent rise in iron ore prices with Brazilian miner Vale. Chinese firms are expected to complete a similar deal.

The 65 percent ore price rise will translate into a rise of more than 20 percent in steel production costs, analysts said.
People are pretty sure that these steel mills will pass on the cost increase to their clients.

Lantern Festival

Lantern Festival is a China's traditional festival. It is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month of the lunar year. Lantern Festival is one of the biggest holidays in China. According to the Chinese tradition, at the very beginning of a new year, when there is a bright full moon hanging in the sky, there should be thousands of colorful lanterns hung out for people to appreciate. At this time, people will try to solve the puzzles on the lanterns and eat yuanxiao (glutinous rice ball) and get all their families united in the joyful atmosphere.

There are many different beliefs about the origin of the Lantern Festival. But one thing for sure is that it had something to do with religious worship.

One legend tells us that it was a time to worship Taiyi, the God of Heaven in ancient times. The belief was that the God of Heaven controlled the destiny of the human world. He had sixteen dragons at his beck and call and he decided when to inflict drought, storms, famine or pestilence upon human beings. Beginning with Qinshihuang, the first emperor to unite the country, all subsequent emperors ordered splendid ceremonies each year. The emperor would ask Taiyi to bring favorable weather and good health to him and his people. Emperor Wudi of the Han Dynasty directed special attention to this event. In 104 BC, he proclaimed it one of the most important celebrations and the ceremony would last throughout the night.

While making lanterns people usually write riddles on lanterns. On the eve of Lantern Festival, all the lanterns are hung up. On Lantern Festival people go outside to have a look at the lanterns and guess the riddles on the lanterns. Perhaps you can see some wonderful folk performances, Dragon Dance and Yangko.
